Q: How many students have been trained in ACLS and PALS by OEPAF?
A: Since OEPAF began offering ACLS and PALS courses in October 1999, approximately 1,100 students have been trained in ACLS and approximately 300 students have been trained in PALS.

Q: How often are courses rescheduled or cancelled?
A: Only 4 out of the last 117 classes were rescheduled or cancelled. Course dates are subject to change, however, OEPAF strives to keep its course commitments and provide reliable service.

A: There are two books you can choose from: the ACLS Provider Manual (ISBN 0-87493-327-7), or the Handbook of Emergency Cardiovascular Care for Healthcare Providers
(ISBN 0-87493-744-2).

Q: Where can I get a textbook for the ACLS course?
A: You can purchase a book on the day of the course, or you can contact OEPAF (432-333-9377) to arrange for a book purchase prior to the course date.

Q: What's the difference between the ACLS course and the ACLS-EP course?
A: The ACLS-Experienced Provider course is for renewal of your current ACLS card. It costs the same as the ACLS course, and covers things like poisonings, lightning injuries, near drowning, electrolyte abnormalities, etc. The format is small group discussions. You are required to bring your current ACLS card with you to the course.
