What is OEPAF?

Odessa Emergency Providers Achievement Fund was incorporated in November of 1995. The corporation was formed out of a need to improve training in all levels of emergency care in the region. OEPAF has become a network of medical professionals working together to develop and teach emergency training programs.

OEPAF’s achievements include the following:

·        Developed a forensic medicine course for physicians, nurses and paramedics

·        Began the first EMS Ultrasound program in the nation

·        Became an American Heart Association Pediatric Advanced Life Support training center

·        Became an American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support training center

·        Started an Advanced Pediatric Life Support training course

·        Started a Pediatric Education for Prehospital Professionals training course

·        Became a Prehospital Advanced Trauma Life Support training center

·        Obtained State Grant Funding from the Texas Department of Health for a new CE (continuing education) course entitled “Anatomy of Trauma”

·        Underwent a facility inspection and approval by the Texas Anatomic Board for use of human cadavers in teaching lifesaving procedures

·        Underwent inspection and approval for the United States Department of Agriculture for a Registered Research Facility

·        Became an Advanced Trauma Life Support course site
